Comic Review: Dejah Thoris & the Green Men #11
We bring February to a close with the penultimate chapter of Dejah Thoris and the Green Men of Mars! Yeah I didn't think it would go on this long either.
Following being discovered last issue by another red woman who knows who she is, Dejah does what any person would do: get into a brawl with her for the enjoyment of their captors, the Warhoons. But quicker than you can say "first rule of Fight Club" Dejah manages to win the fight and learn some information-her fellow captive is psychic and needed to operate "the gun" in an abandoned ship. Dejah and her team must find a way to stop this but first must survive with green men who cannot be trusted.
Pretty much most of this issue is given over to Dejah's Road House style abilities while the rest is a walk to a big gun so there isn't much plot to speak of. That said it goes by fast even if seeing the incomparable Dejah reduced to slugging it out is a little off the beaten track, even for this series or Dynamite's other comics.
Some nice artwork by Jethro Morales helps carry the issue along, with some nice colors and design choices. Nothing else left to say there.
I'll close by saying it's an OK issue, nothing more, nothing less. Just please don't announce another extension! Until next time fellas.
