Star Trek, Green Lantern and More Avatar News

I've put off my diatribe due to the weather. But the geek news continues...

First up Paramount has set June 29, 2012 as the release date for the sequel to JJ Abrams' Star Trek reboot. No word on plot or if Abrams is returning to the director chair. With John Carter of Mars, Flash Gordon and the Avatar sequel (some rumored) hitting the same year sci-fi geeks will have some tough choices to make. The brief is posted here-http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=62201

Next up the Hollywood Reporter's Heatvision Blog is reporting that actress Blake Lively (best known for the trashy teen soap Gossip Girl) has been cast as Carol Ferris in the upcoming Green Lantern with Ryan Reynolds. Considering Carol in the comics is dark haired (and becomes Star Sapphire) and Lively is blonde let's hope we don't get a bad dye job. You can read more here: http://www.heatvisionblog.com/2010/01/blake-lively-cast-as-female-lead-in-green-lantern.html

Finally Fox has posted the complete script for Avatar online in pdf form. You can get a copy here-http://www.foxscreenings.com/media/pdf/JamesCameronAVATAR.pdf I wonder if Disney will ever do the same for John Carter of Mars (given their paranoia probably not.)
